The comparison of reactions of cardiovascular parametrs on classic and eccentric ergometers in healthy women

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo posoudit vliv stejného zatížení při klasické a excentrické bicyklové ergometrii na kardiovaskulární systém. Studie se zúčastnilo 10 zdravých žen v průměrném věku 23,1 ± 2,23 let, které byly v odstupu několika dní testovány pomocí klasického a excentrického ergometru. Zátěžový protokol se skládal ze tří stupňů zátěže: 40, 65, 90 W. Každý stupeň trval 5 minut a vždy v závěru daného stupně byly měřeny hodnoty krevního tlaku. Srdeční frekvence byla sledována kontinuálně po celou dobu vyšetření pomocí EKG systému. Výsledky statistické analýzy dat vyhodnotily jako signifikantní rozdíl (p ˂ 0,001) mezi koncentrickou a excentrickou ergometrií při všech stupních zátěže pouze hodnoty srdeční frekvence, kde odezva na zátěž byla vyšší u koncentrické práce. Systolický krevní tlak byl při nejnižší zátěži (40 W) stejný, při vyšších stupních zátěže (65 a 90 W) byl vyšší u koncentrické ergometrie. Statisticky významný rozdíl (p ˂ 0,01) systolického krevního tlaku byl však jen při zátěži 90 W. Diastolický krevní tlak byl naopak vyšší při excentrické ergometrii, ale statisticky významný rozdíl (p ˂ 0,01) byl jen při nejnižší zátěži (40 W).

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis was to map the influence of equal levels of exertion during classic and excentric bicycle ergometrics on cardiovascular system. The study was taken by 10 healthy women between 23,1 – 22,3 years old who were tested with classic and eccentric ergometer with multiple day breaks in between the testing sessions. The exertion protocol included three levels of exertion: 40, 65, 90 W. Testing at each level lasted 5 minutes and the blood pressure was measured at the end of each level. Heart rate was monitored continually with the help of EKG system throughout the whole session. The results of statistical analysis showed that significant difference (p ˂ 0,01) between concentric and excentric ergometrics in terms of heart rate appeared only in the case of higher exertion level when doing concentric work. Systolic blood pressure did not differ at the lowest exertion level (40W) and at higher exertion levels (65 W and 90 W) the systolic blood pressure was higher during concentric ergometrics. Nevertheless statistically significant difference in systolic blood pressure was registered only at 90 W exertion level. By contrast, diastolic blood pressure was higher during excentric ergometrics but statistically significant difference was registered only during the lowest exertion level (40 W).
