František Halas and Poetry of Young Authors: A Commented Bibliography of Cultural Phenomenon and Its Tradition

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je věnována kulturnímu fenoménu odkazu Františka Halase a podpory mladých básníků. První kapitola představuje nakladatelství Václava Petra, druhá kapitola pojednává o Halasově pojetí básnické tvorby, jeho projevech podpory začínajících autorů, reflexi osobnosti Františka Halase v memoárových textech a problematice recepce Halasova díla. Zvláštní podkapitola je zaměřená na edici První knížky, kterou Halas redigoval v letech 1936 – 1942 v nakladatelství Václava Petra. V následujících kapitolách práce sleduje pokračování tradice po Halasově smrti. Je věnována pozornost osudům Ludvíka Kundery a způsobům, kterými se ujal Halasova odkazu. V práci byly využity články z dobových periodik k rekonstrukci geneze literární slavnosti Halasův Kunštát a Literární soutěže Františka Halase. Rovněž je zahrnut návrh využití získaných poznatků o Halasových a Kunderových aktivitách a názorech na psaní poezie a podporu mladých básníků v současném prostředí knihoven.

Abstract:

This Bachelor's thesis is dedicated to the cultural phenomenon of František Halas' legacy and the support of young poets. First chapter introduces Václav Petr's publishing house, the second chapter elaborates on Halas' conception of poetic work and expressions of his support to beginning poets. The reflection of the personality of František Halas in memoir texts and the issue of the reception of Halas' work are also discussed. A special subchapter is focused on the První knížky edition, which has been redacted by Halas in the years 1936 – 1942 in Václav Petr's publishing house. In the following chapters, the thesis describes the continuation of the tradition after Halas' death. Attention is paid to the fate of Ludvík Kundera and the way he took on Halas's legacy. There are articles used in this thesis for reconstruction of genesis of the literary festival Halasův Kunštát and the competition Literární soutěž Františka Halase. The thesis also includes a proposal for the use of acquired knowledge about Halas and Kundera's activities and opinions on writing poetry and the support of young poets in the current environment of libraries.
