Durability of latent image on cassettes for computed radiography

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá hodnocením trvanlivosti latentního obrazu na kazetách pro nepřímou digitalizaci obrazu. Konkrétně se zaobírá zjišťováním ztráty dat v latentním obraze v čase. Teoretická část práce pojednává o objevu a počátcích využití rentgenového záření a výpočetní techniky, fyzikálním vzniku a vlastnostech rentgenového záření, digitální radiografii, především o nepřímé digitální radiografii a digitalizaci obrazu. Praktická část řeší ztrátu dat latentního obrazu v čase. Ztráta dat latentního obrazu je hodnocena objektivně s využitím histogramů digitálních rentgenových snímků kolene antropomorfního fantomu vytvořených při experimentu. Subjektivně je ztráta dat latentního obrazu hodnocena pomocí metody Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI), face-to-face dotazování respondentů, kteří snímky porovnávali mezi sebou a dále určovali snímek v řadě, od kterého je podle nich viditelná změna obrazu. Z výsledků vyplývá, že objektivně již po patnácti minutách od expozice dochází ke změně latentního obrazu luminiscenční folie na kazetě pro nepřímou digitální radiografii. Tato změna ale není subjektivně hodnotitelná. Subjektivně respondenti vidí změnu v digitálním obraze přibližně po šesti až devíti hodinách od expozice.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with reviews of durability of latent image on cassettes for computed radiography. It deals about detection losing data in latent image in time especially. The theoretical part of thesis deal about the discovery and the beginnings of the using x-rays and computer technology, physical creation and properties of x-rays, digital radiography, particularly about the computed radiography and image digitization. The practical part of the thesis deal with losing data of latent image at a time. Losing data of latent image is evaluated objectively using histograms of digital radiography images of the knee anthropomorphic phantom created in the experiment. Losing data of latent image is subjectively evaluated using CAPI method, face-to-face interviewing respondents, who compared the images between themselves and further determined the image in the series, from which, shift of image is visible. The results showed that objectively after fifteen minutes of exposure there is change of the latent image on the luminescent film screen cartridge for computed radiography. Subjectively, respondents see a change in digital image approximately after six until nine hours after exposure.
