Animal testing from an ethical perspective

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá testováním na zvířatech z pohledu etiky. Co je či není eticky únosné skrz testování na zvířatech. Je zde nastíněna historie pokusů, tak také představitelé, kteří stáli na počátků těchto experimentů. Práce dále uvádí, kde jsou nejčastěji využívaná zvířata, také časté testy, které jsou na nich využívány a alternativní metody. V neposlední řadě se bakalářská práce zabývá tím, zda jsou v dnešní době značky, které hledají alternativy a nevyužívají zvířata k testováním různých kosmetických ingrediencí.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with animal testing from an ethical point of view. It examines what is and is not ethically acceptable in animal testing. The history of animal experiments is outlined, as well as the key figures who were at the forefront of these experiments. The thesis further discusses the most commonly used animals, the common tests performed on them, and alternative methods. Finally, the bachelor's thesis examines whether there are currently brands that are looking for alternatives and do not use animals to test various cosmetic ingredients.
