Abstract:

Scénář vycházející ze skutečných událostí se zabývá tragédií na kunštátském zámku, která se odehrála 8. června 1948. Hildegarde, manželka významného vědce, a její syn Oldřich jsou nalezeni mrtví a s příjezdem kriminalistů začíná vyšetřování dvojité vraždy. Ladislav Čtverák, fotograf, si všímá stop a zvláštností místa činu a vytváří si díky nim různé verze tragédie, která se odehrála. Ty se jako sny postupně vylupují ze stěn zámku a odhalují nejrůznější podoby zločinu. S každou další verzí ve vyšetřovatelově hlavě se na zámku odvíjí stejná noc, ale nový příběh. Se Čtverákovým narůstajícím podezřením, že se jednalo o politicky motivovaný zločin, se fotograf propadá do vlastní paranoie a rozdíly mezi realitou a představami se stírají. S příjezdem StB se uzavírá vyšetřování jako vražda a sebevražda. Žena měla zavraždit svého syna, a poté vyskočit z okna. Čtverák tak stojí před volbou, zda nepravdivému závěru pomoci a odevzdat film s fotkami, které dokazují, že tomu tak nemohlo být. Scénář ukazuje, co s člověkem udělá nevyřčená hrozba, paralyzující strach nejen o vlastní existenci.

Abstract:

The script is based on a real events and is focusing on a tragedy at Kunštát castle that happened on the 8th of June 1948. A wife of a significant scientist Hildegarde and her son Oldřich are found dead and with the arrival of criminalists starts an investigation of a double homicide. Ladislav Čtverák, a photographer, notices oddities and traces at the crime scene and he starts to imagining different versions of the tragedy that had happened. These imaginings gradually come to light as if they were dreams, and reveal assorted versions of the crime. With every new version in the investigator's mind the same night at the castle happens again and again but with a new story. With Čtverák’s cumulative suspicion that this was a politically motivated crime the photographer succumbs into his own paranoia and the differences between reality and imagination fade away. The case is closed as a murder and suicide with the arrival of StB. The wife was supposed to murder her son and than jump out of the window. This puts Čtverák in front of a choice whether to help the false closure and hand over his photographic film that proves it could not have happened that way. The script shows what an unspoken threat, a paralysing fear not only for his own existence, can do to a man.
