Knowledges of mothers in the Jihlava region about sudden infant death syndrome

Abstract:

Jak z názvu vyplývá, diplomová práce je zaměřena na zjištění znalostí matek v jihlavském regionu o syndromu náhlého úmrtí dítěte. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou část, ve které jsou shrnuta fakta od historie syndromu náhlého úmrtí kojence (SIDS) až po nejnovější poznatky z této problematiky. Zaměřena je především na rizikové faktory a možnosti preventivních opatření, dále jsou zde také zmíněny nadace věnující se problematice náhlé a neočekávané smrti kojenců. V praktické části jsou zpracována data výzkumného šetření a jejich následná interpretace. Přestože povědomí matek o SIDS je velmi dobré, 3 respondentky nedokázaly uvést žádné preventivní opatření, kterým by bylo možné syndromu náhlého úmrtí kojence předejít. Frekvence užívání dudlíku je veliká, ovšem jako tišící prostředek nikoli v souvislosti s prevencí SIDS. V tomto ohledu je nadále přeceňován význam monitoru dechu. Výsledky jsou porovnány se stejným výzkumem z roku 2003, dále potom se dvěma bakalářskými pracemi na stejné téma a jednou zahraniční studií.

Abstract:

As the title suggests, the thesis is focused on getting the knowledge of mothers in the Jihlava region of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. The work is divided into theoretical part, summarizing the facts from the history of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) to the latest findings from this. It is focused on risk factors and prevention approaches, then there are also mentioned foundation devoted to the problem of sudden and unexpected infant death. In the practical part is processed research data and their subsequent interpretation. Although awareness of mothers of SIDS is very good, 3 respondents failed to provide any precautionary measures, which could be sudden infant death syndrome prevented. Frequency of use of pacifiers is great, however as a tranquilizer rather than in relation to the prevention of SIDS. In this regard continues to overestimate the significance of the monitor breathing. Results are compared with similar research from 2003, then followed with two bachelor's works on the same topic and one foreign studies.
