Hannah Arendt's theory of totalitarianism

Abstract:

Hannah Arendt na základě analýzy nacistického Německa a Sovětského svazu představuje elementy nutné pro etablování a fungování totalitarismu. Autorčiným závěrem je, že totalitarismus je moderní fenomén, sledující politické seskupení (totalitní hnutí) se silným vůdcem v čele, které se dostává k moci díky využití přízně atomizované masové společnosti. Z mocenské pozice se hnutí pomocí systematické ideologické indoktrinace a plošného (masového) teroru snaží ovládnout všechny sféry společenského života. Výsledek představuje antropologická revoluce, z níž vzejde nový člověk, plně oddaný ideologii a totalitnímu hnutí.

Abstract:

Analysing Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union Hannah Arendt represents the elements necessary for the establishment and functioning of totalitarianism. Her conclusion is that totalitarianism is a modern phenomenon, observing the political group or party (totalitarian movement) head by a strong leader, which comes to power through using the favor of atomized mass-society. For staying in position of power uses the totalitarian movement systematic ideological indoctrination and the mass terror, seeking to dominate all spheres of social life. The result is an anthropological revolution, that output is a new man, fully dedicated to the totalitarian ideology and movement.
