Life with implanted pacemaker - what can nurse offer to the patient?

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je teoreticko - praktického charakteru a zabývá se životem nemocných s trvale implantovaným kardiostimulátorem. Výzkumná část je zaměřena na 2 cílové soubory. Prvním souborem jsou pacienti, u kterých zjišťujeme jejich znalosti o omezeních a životních změnách, která s sebou trvalá kardiostimulace přináší. Druhý sledovaný soubor jsou sestry, u kterých, stejně jako u pacientů, zjišťujeme úroveň znalostí o této problematice. Na základě zjištěných výsledků byla vytvořena edukační přednáška pro sestry.

Abstract:

The thesis is a theoretical - practical nature and deals with the lives of patients with permanently implanted pacemakers. The research part is focused on two target groups. The first group is composed of the patients. The thesis finds out the patient´s level of knowledge about the limitations and life changes coming with permanent cardiac pacing. The second group consists of the nurses and the thesis investigates, as well as by the patiens, their level of knowledge of this issue. On the basis of the research findings the educational presentation for nurses was prepared.
