Elbow joint kinetics variability during Round-off in female gymnastics: T shape hand position

Abstract:

Cílem práce je posoudit intra-individuální variabilitu kinetiky loketního kloubu u sportovních gymnastek, které preferují T-postavení rukou. Výsledky mohou přinést praktické informace o problematice prevence zranění horních končetin v gymnastice, která bude zvláště vhodná pro trenéry, lékaře a vědce. Subjekty výzkumu byly 3 vrcholové sportovní gymnastky, které při provádění rondátu použili paralelní a T postavení rukou. Gymnastky provedly 15 platných pokusů rondátu přemetu vzad v paralelním postavení a 15 platných pokusů rondátu přemetu vzad T-postavení rukou. Kinetická data byly zpracovány v systému Visual 3D. Výsledky této práce ukazují vyšší variabilita pohybu v loketním kloubu v T-postavení ve srovnání s paralelním. Zvýšená variabilita ve frontální rovině v T-postavení naznačuje pro gymnastky nižší opakované mechanické zatížení stejných struktur loketního kloubu a tím snižuje riziko zranění loketního kloubu.

Abstract:

The aim of my bachelor thesis, is to evaluate intra-individual variability in the kinetics of the elbow in women sports gymnasts, who prefers T-hand position. The results can provides useful information abour prevention of injuries of the upper extremities in sports gymnastice, which will be particularly suitable for coaches, doctors and scientists. Research subjects were 3 senior women gymnasts which the used in the implementation of parallel and T position by hand in round off. Gymnasts conducted 15 significant attempts round-ff loop backwards in a parallel position and 15 significant attempts round-off loop backwards in the hands of T position. Kinetic results were processed by Visual 3D. The results of this study show a higher variability of movement in the elbow joint in T-position compared with the parallel. Increased variability in the frontal plane of the T-position indicates the position for gymnasts lower repeated mechanical loading of the same structures of the elbow, thus reducing the risk of injury to the elbow.
