Self-concept of Siblings of Children with Multiple Disabilities in Context of Parenting Upbringing Styles and Education of Their Siblings

Abstract:

The theses provide primary theoretical perspective on the issue of self-concept of siblings of children with multiple disabilities, which determinate important spheres for understanding of a research part. The research part deals with the detection of the coherences, which affect individuality of a person, who is growing up with a sibling with disabilities. In the main research question we focus on the self-concept of healthy individuals. The first part of theses consists of three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the topic of multiple disabilities and specifications connected with this disability. The second chapter defines family of a children witch multiple disabilities, with the intention of relationships in the family and parental upbringing too. The third chapter is related to self-concept, which is in focus of our thesis. The second part consists of research, which is concentrated on the self-concept of the healthy siblings, who are affected by living in a family with a child with multiple disabilities. The answer to the main research question reveals testimony of the participating respondents.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca ponúka základný teoretický náhľad k problematike sebapoňatia súrodencov detí s kombinovaným postihnutím, ktorý vymedzuje oblasti dôležité pre pochopenie výskumnej časti. Výskumná časť sa zaoberá zisťovaním súvislosti, ktoré ovplyvňujú osobnosť jednotlivca vyrastajúceho so súrodencom s postihnutím. V hlavnej výskumnej otázke sa sústreďujeme na samotné sebapoňatie tohto zdravého jednotlivca. Prvá časť diplomovej práce je zložená z troch kapitol. Prvá sa zaoberá témou kombinovaného postihnutia a špecifík spojených s týmto postihnutím. Druhá kapitola charakterizuje rodinu s dieťaťom s kombinovaným postihnutím, so zameraním predovšetkým na vzťahy v rodine, ale tiež aj na výchovu rodičov. Obsah tretej kapitoly súvisí so sebapoňatím, ktoré je v našej diplomovej práci v centre nášho záujmu. Druhú časť tvorí výskum zameraný na sebapoňatie zdravých súrodencov, ktorí sú ovplyvnení životom v rodine s dieťaťom s kombinovaným postihnutím. Odpoveď na hlavnú výskumnú otázku odkrývajú výpovede zúčastnených respondentov.
