Infertility and its social consequences

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce má za úkol sledovat neplodnost jako zátěžovou životní situaci zejména v souvislosti s léčbou pomocí umělého oplodnění. Neplodnost je v poslední době narůstajícím problémem a stává se příčinou mnoha negativních dopadů, které mají vliv nejen na zúčastněné osoby, ale v konečném důsledku i na vztahy s jejich okolím. Léčba neplodnosti může zasahovat nejen oblast partnerských a rodinných vztahů, ale i kvalitu vztahů vůči širšímu okolí, dále oblast financí, psychickou stránku života jedince, kdy dochází k pocitům méněcennosti, nenaplněnosti životního „úkolu“ či dokonce k depresím. V rámci bakalářské práce se snažím nejen prezentovat, o jak závažný a narůstající se jedná problém, ale pomocí průzkumu tato tvrzení i obhájit. Problematika sociálních důsledků neplodnosti v souvislosti s její léčbou je v empirické části práce zkoumána pomocí analýzy polostrukturovaných rozhovorů realizovaných s klientkami Centra asistované reprodukce Sanus v Hradci Králové.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is to observe infertility as a stresfull situation especially in connection with eutelegenesis treatment. Infertility has been a growing problem recently and it has been a cause of many negative results which influence not only the persons involved but also relationships with the family and within wider social relations. Infertility treatment can influence not only the partnership itself but also influences the relationships related to people´s environment, financial situation, employment, mental processes. These can lead to feelings of inferiority, life unfulfillment or even depressions. Within this thesis I try not only to show how serious and growing of this problem is but I also try to support this opinion by research. The problem of infertility social impact and its connection with its treatment in the empirical part of the thesis is examined by analysing of half-structured interviews with clients of Asisted Reproduction Centre Sanus in Hradec Králové.
