Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá porodními polohami a možnostmi polohování těhotných a rodících žen. Obsah se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. Teorie popisuje vývoj porodních poloh od pravěku k současnosti, jejich mechanismus a vliv na průběh porodu. Zároveň rozděluje porodní polohy dle rysů a popisuje benefity a rizika jednotlivých skupin.
