Abstract:

Dizertační práce se zabývá modelováním ohybového kmitání rotorů turbodmychadel uložených v kluzných ložiskách s plovoucími pouzdry, navržením efektivních radiálních ložisek a provedením experimentu pro verifikaci simulací. Pro účely simulace jsou využity geometrické a provozní parametry sériově vyráběného turbodmychadla a experimenty byly provedeny v součinnosti s výrobcem. Ve druhé kapitole práce jsou odvozeny pohybové rovnice popisující ohybové kmitání rotoru. Využito je metody konečných prvků a přístupu, kdy jsou součásti turbodmychadla považovány za vázaný mechanický systém. Třetí kapitola se zabývá modelováním hydrodynamického mazání v radiálních kluzných ložiskách s plovoucími pouzdry, odvozením modelu pro průtok oleje mazacími otvory v plovoucích pouzdrech a stanovením provozních vůlí radiálních ložisek. Čtvrtá kapitola je zaměřena na výpočet hydrodynamického tlaku metodami konečných diferencí a konečných prvků a na stanovení hydrodynamických sil působících v ložisku. V páté kapitole je představena metodika pro hodnocení vibrací točivých strojů a jsou charakterizovány typické vibrační projevy rotorů turbodmychadel. Dále je zhodnocen vliv použitého modelu hydrodynamických sil na výsledky simulace: je ukázáno, že aproximativní analytické metody jsou vhodné pouze pro přibližné analýzy a časově náročné úlohy, např. optimalizaci. V šesté kapitole je formulována úloha dynamické analýzy rotoru turbodmychadla a jsou uvedeny všechny relevantní parametry a podmínky. S využitím vytvořeného výpočtového modelu je zkoumán vliv nevyváženosti, ložiskových vůlí a modelu proudění mazacími otvory v plovoucích pouzdrech na ohybové kmitání rotoru a hydrodynamické ztráty v ložiskách. Pozornost je věnována i různým možnostem vizualizace odezvy nelineárních kmitavých systémů. Dále je posouzen vliv konstrukčního řešení rozváděcích drážek ve vnějším olejovým filmu ložisek a je ukázáno, že konstrukční řešení rozváděcích mazacích drážek může mít zásadní vliv na provoz ložiska. V závěru kapitoly je ukázán způsob snížení hydrodynamických ztrát ve vnitřním olejovém filmu pomocí podélných drážek. Snížení ztrát v ložiskách turbodmychadel má potenciálně velký společenský dopad, protože znamená zvýšení účinnosti spalovacích motorů a tedy další snížení emisí v automobilové dopravě. V sedmé kapitole jsou popsány zkoušky provedené na zkušebním zařízení a metody použité při měření. Je představena levná metoda měření úhlové rychlosti plovoucích s využitím indukčních snímačů a je hodnocen vliv nevyváženosti, typu provozu a teplotě vzduchu v turbínovém stupni na ohybové kmitání rotoru turbodmychadla. Také je popsána havárie rotoru způsobená nevhodně instalovanými snímači rotorových vibrací.

Abstract:

This dissertation thesis deals with methods for computational modelling and testing of lateral vibrations of turbocharger rotors supported in journal bearings with fully floating rings. Furthermore, design for an effective radial journal bearing is proposed. Parameters of an investigated turbocharger were prepared in cooperation with a turbocharger manufacturer and all described tests took place in testing laboratories owned by this manufacturer. Equations of motion governing lateral vibrations of the rotor are described in the second chapter of the thesis. Both finite element method and multi-body formulation are used in order to derive the equations of motion. The third chapter deals with hydrodynamic lubrication in the radial journal bearings with the floating rings, with oil flow through feeding holes which are located in the floating rings, and with estimation of the operating clearance of the radial bearings. The fourth chapter focuses on the evaluation of hydrodynamic pressure employing the finite difference method and the finite element method. Hydrodynamic forces acting in the bearing can be computed only if the pressure is known. The methodology for the evaluation of vibrations of rotating machines is introduced in the fifth chapter. Furthermore, characteristic vibration patterns of the turbocharger rotors are described and effects of various descriptions of the hydrodynamic forces on dynamics of the turbocharger rotors are discussed. It is shown that approximate analytical methods for the evaluation of the hydrodynamic forces are only appropriate for simulations with crude error tolerances and for time-consuming tasks, such as optimization. Analysis of dynamics of the turbocharger rotor is performed in the sixth chapter. All relevant parameters and conditions are presented so the results can be reproduced. The influence of rotor unbalance, bearing clearances and the oil flow through the feeding holes on the rotor dynamics and on hydrodynamic losses in the bearings is evaluated. Attention is paid to various possibilities of the visualisation of the response of non-linear oscillating systems. The influence of geometry of oil grooves located in an outer oil film is also evaluated. It is shown that the geometry has a major effect on bearing operation. A technique for reduction of the hydrodynamic losses in the bearing is proposed at the end of the chapter. If the losses were truly reduced, the proposed technique would have a solid impact on improving the effectivity of modern combustion engines and thus reducing their emission. Experiments performed with a test rig and methods used for testing are described in the seventh chapter. A method for measurement of floating ring speed, which employs cheap inductive sensors, is proposed. Experimental data showing the influence of the rotor unbalance and operating conditions on relative shaft vibrations and the floating ring speed are presented. Moreover, there is a note on destructive stall-induced vibrations of blades of a compressor impeller, which can be caused by proximity sensors mounted in a compressor housing.
