Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate Edgar Allan Poe's influence on the short stories of Argentine authors Jorge Luis Borges and Julio Cortázar. Poe, a prominent figure of American Romanticism and the founder of the detective genre, greatly impacted European and Latin American literature.
