Dark therapy and its effect on the level of the burnout syndrome

Abstract:

Technika chamber REST neboli terapie tmou se jeví z pohledu lidské zkušenosti jako velice účinná potenciálně terapeutická metoda napomáhající regeneraci tělesných i duševních sil. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem pobytu v prostředí chamber REST na úroveň syndromu vyhoření. Práce je rozdělená na teoretickou a výzkumnou část. Teoretická část pojednává o syndromu vyhoření, zabývá se etiologií, diagnostikou, léčbou i prevencí burnout syndromu. Dále je zpracována kapitola o terapii tmou jako variantě chamber REST. Výzkumná část této práce je zaměřena na posuzování změn v míře syndromu vyhoření před pobytem v prostředí chamber REST a po proceduře u jedinců podstupujících tuto zkušenost a srovnání těchto údajů s hodnotami u komparační skupiny bez intervence. Závěr je věnován interpretací výsledků a diskuzi.

Abstract:

Chamber REST or darkness therapy appears from the perspective of human experience as a potentially very effective therapeutic method that helps to regenerate physical and mental strength. This thesis deals with verification of premise, that spending some time in the atmosphere with restricted stimulation may have a positive impact on a level of burnout syndrome. The work is divided into theoretical and research part. Theoretical part deals with term ?burnout syndrome?, its etiology, diagnostics, treatment and prevention. The last chapter is focused on the darkness therapy as a specific variant of restricted environmental stimulation. The research part of this work is focused on assessing of possible relations between chamber REST stay and a level of burnout syndrome. Collected data are compared between experimental group with the intervention and reference group without any intervention. Finally, the thesis focuses on the interpretation of results and discussion.
