This diploma thesis deals with some local names, their etymology, origin and history as well as geography and history of the town and villages that are located on the Imperial Road from Prague to Vienna. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vybranými místními jmény, jejich etymologií, vznikem a historií a zároveň geografií a historií těchto měst a obcí, které leží na císařské silnici z Prahy do Vídně. U každého města je také zmíněn počet obyvatel. Teoretická část řeší oblast onomastiky, toponomastiky, jejich rozdělení a také osídlení České republiky.
