The Interpretation of Importance of Wilderness and Natural Habitats in The Context of Climate Change

Abstract:

Diplomová práce na téma Interpretace významu divočiny a přírodních stanovišť v kontextu klimatické změny se zabývá otázkou ztráty divočiny a s ní spojené biologické rozmanitosti. Hledá způsob, jakým divočinu interpretovat, abychom si uvědomili její význam, vytvořili si k ní vztah a chtěli ji chránit. Interpretace se zaměřuje na cílovou skupinu dětí školního a předškolního věku, kde v rámci strategie navrhuje zapojení škol a volnočasových aktivit s cílem dostat děti ven, aby si vytvořily vztah k místům ve svém okolí a divočina se stala přirozenou součástí jejich životů. Interpretace pracuje s formou zážitku, pomocí něhož si děti mohou vytvořit vazbu k místům, divočině a přírodě samotné. Jako modelové území byla vybrána obec Kuřívody v bývalém vojenském prostoru Ralsko, kde se nachází nevyužívané plochy, na nichž probíhá proces sukcese. Tato místa představují určitou formu divočiny a následně se s nimi pracuje v rámci interpretace. Ta se zde snaží zachytit přirozené změny v prostředí pomocí menších objektů zakomponovaných do míst zájmu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis on the topic The Interpretation of Importance of Wilderness and Natural Habitats in The Context of Climate Change focuses on the question of the loss of wilderness and the biodiversity that is connected with it. It looks for the way how the wilderness could be interpreted so that we would build the relation to it and we would like to protect it. Interpretation concentrates on the school and preschool-age children and within the strategy, it suggests the involvement of schools and leisure time activities with the aim of getting the children out so that they form relation with places in their surroundings and the wilderness would become a natural part of their lives. Interpretation works with form of experience through which the children can bond with places and the wilderness and nature itself. As a model area it was chosen the village named Kuřívody, located in the former military area Ralsko, where the unused places occur and the process of succession is going on here. These places of succession present a certain form of wilderness and the work concerns with them within the interpretation. Interpretation tries to catch the natural changes of the environment by smaller objects which follow up the places of interest.
