Cieľom diplomovej práce je popísať a vyhodnotiť vplyv volieb a volebných reforiem na proces demokratizácie v Mexiku. Na pozadí teórie demokracie a demokratizácie je interpretovaná premena mexického režimu z kategórie volebného autoritarizmu do podoby volebnej demokracie, pričom je reflektovaná úloha volieb v tomto procese.
