Youngsters' perspective on the role of father in the family

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou role otce v současné rodině z pohledu mladých dospělých, jak žen, tak i mužů. V teoretické části je popsána charakteristika měnícího se otce od tradičního k „novému otci“. Kromě těchto charakteristik dále představuji nejtypičtější role otce v rodině, jeho přístup k výchově jak k synovi, tak i k dceři, nejen péči o dítě a také participace otce na pracích v domácnosti. V empirické části je podrobně popsán metodologický postup a výsledky mého výzkumného šetření, které mají za primární cíl zjistit, jak mladí dospělí vnímají roli otce v současné rodině a nakolik jejich postoje odpovídají teoretickým výzkumům v této oblasti.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the role of father in the current family from the point of view of young adults, both women and men. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of the changing father from the traditional to the "new father". In addition to these characteristics, I present the most typical roles of father in the family, his approach to raising both his son and daughter, not only child care but also father's participation in domestic work. The empirical part detailly describes the methodological process and results of my research, whose primary objective was to find out how young adults perceive the role of a father in the current family and how their attitudes correspond to the theoretical researches in this area.
