In this thesis we study residues of functions of a complex variable and their applications. The work has been divided into seven chapters. In the first chapter we define a special type of series---the so-called Laurent series. In the second chapter we analyze the isolated singularities. V této bakalářské práci se zabýváme rezidui funkcí komplexní proměnné a jejich aplikacemi. Práce je rozdělena do sedmi kapitol. V první kapitole definujeme speciální typ řady, tzv. Laurentovu řadu. Druhá kapitola analyzuje izolované singularity. Další kapitola pojednává o reziduích komplexních funkcí.
