The vulgar language of the twentieth century cinema. Analysis of the movie Torrente, the Dumb Arm of the Law

Abstract:

The main goal of this thesis is to analyze in detail the circumstances of the use of vulgar language, which are in direct connection with Spanish cinematography of the twentieth century. The work includes, among other things, the historical and social context of the time, the analysis of sexism and stereotypes. The second part focuses on the linguistic analysis of the film Torrente: The Dumb Arm of the Law (1998) by the Spanish director Santiago Segura, and specifically on the description and explanation of vulgarisms, which are used there in various forms.

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je podrobně analyzovat okolnosti užívání vulgárního jazyka, které jsou v přímé souvislosti se španělskou kinematografií dvacátého století. Práce mimo jiné zahrnuje historicko-sociální kontext dané doby, rozbor sexismu a stereotypů. Druhá část je zaměřena na lingvistický rozbor filmu Torrente: Blbec jménem zákona (1998) od španělského režiséra Santiaga Segury, konkrétně pak na popsání a vysvětlení vulgarismů, které jsou zde užity v různých formách.
