School (Career) Counselling at Basic Schools Focusing on Professional Orientation and Influence of the School on this Orientation

Abstract:

Disertační práce zpracovává problematiku kariérového poradenství na základních školách, zaměřuje se na vytváření profesní orientace u žáků druhého stupně a mapuje vliv školy na tuto orientaci. V teoretické části je charakterizován pojmový aparát, podán stručný přehled teorií volby povolání a kariérního vývoje, uvedeny poznatky o období dospívání s ohledem na kariérové rozhodování a shrnuta volba další vzdělávací dráhy a budoucího povolání v domácích a zahraničních výzkumných šetřeních. V empirické části je popsána a zdůvodněna volba smíšené strategie a rozebrána metodologie a techniky realizovaného výzkumu. Cílem výzkumného šetření bylo analyzovat kariérové poradenství na základních školách z pohledu žáků a z pohledu kariérových poradců a zjistit míru vlivu základní školy na kariérové rozhodování žáků a volbu jejich další vzdělávací a profesní dráhy.

Abstract:

This dissertation handles the issue of career counselling at basic schools, it focuses on creating of professional orientation of pupils of the second stage and shows the influence of school on this orientation. The theoretical part characterizes the conceptual apparatus, it gives a brief overview of career choice theories and career development, gives knowledge of the adolescence period with regard to career decision-making and it summarizes the choice of further education and future occupation in domestic and foreign research investigations. The empirical part describes and justifies the choice of a mixed research strategy, it discusses the methodology and techniques of the implemented research. The aim of the research investigation was to analyze the career counselling at basic schools from the pupils´ point of view and from the point of view of career guidance counsellors and to find out the degree of basic school influence on career decision-making and the choice of further education and career course.
