Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Jazyk módních časopisů“ se zabývá obsahem magazínů věnujících se módě. Pracuje podrobněji se dvěma populárními periodiky. Nastiňuje kontext jejich vzniku a charakterizuje jejich specifika. Popisuje strukturu časopisů, kompozici obsahu, charakter užívaných titulků, mapuje pravidelné rubriky a zmiňuje jejich žánry. Opírá se především o teorii stylistiky, neopomíná však ani jiné lingvistické disciplíny, zejména lexikologii, syntax a morfologii. Ačkoli je její záběr poměrně široký, nejde pouze po povrchu, zmiňuje též přesahy do jiných oborů, dotýká se například grafického designu, sociologie a psychologie reklamy. Zabývá se také tištěnou inzercí a jejím vztahem k obsahu redakčních textů. Uvádí společné rysy zkoumaných časopisů a jejich odlišnosti. Zjišťuje, zda jejich jazyk splňuje obvyklé rysy publicistického stylu a rozpoznává přesahy do jiných funkčních stylů. Cílem této práce je shrnout společné rysy a rozdíly stylové a jazykové roviny zkoumaných časopisů.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „Language of Fashion Magazines“ deals with its content not only from the linguistic point of view. It studies two popular magazines (its Czech division). The thesis outlines context of its origin and characterizes their specifics. It describes structure of magazines, composition of their content, character of its headlines, maps regular sections and determines its genre. This thesis uses primarily theory of stylistics but also work with other linguistic disciplines, especially lexicology, syntax and morphology. Even though it is an extensive topic, the thesis is not superficial, it also takes into account other possible fields, e.g. graphic design, sociology and advertising psychology. It deals with printed advertising and its connection to content of editorial text. The thesis studies, if the language of fashion magazines fulfils typical features of the journalistic style and detects overlapping into another functional style. The aim of this thesis is to summarize the common features and differences of the stylistics and linguistic level of the studied journals.
