Family taking care of relative with Huntington´s disease

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice Huntingtonovy nemoci (HN), přehledně představuje její příčiny, projevy, stadia, léčbu a komplexní péči. Zaměřuje se také na zátěž rodiny, kterou musí tato zvládat při péčí o příbuzného s HN. Jádrem práce, je teorie deficitu sebepéče, která napomáhá i metodickému zpracování tématu. Prvním cílem práce je sestavit kompetence sebepéče/dependentní péče, které by si měli pečující osvojit, aby péči o svého příbuzného s Huntingtonovou nemocí lépe pochopili a zvládli. Další cíle práce mapují (pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu ? polostrukturovaný rozhovor), jak pečovatelé prožívají péči o příbuzného s Huntingtonovou nemocí. Dále zjišťují, které problémy pečující nejvíce trápí a kterými kompetencemi v souvislosti s péčí o příbuzného disponují. Na základě zjištěných výsledků kvalitativního výzkumu a rozpracované situační potřeby sebepéče je sestaven edukační materiál zaměřený na logopedii při Huntingtonově nemoci. Z rozhovorů je vytvořena čítanka příběhů s názvem ?Život s Huntingtonovou nemocí?

Abstract:

This diploma paper describes the issue of Huntington disease (HD), generally describes its causation, symptoms, stages of illness, medication and complex care. It is also focused on burden on family resulting from care of the HD patient in relation. Core of the paper is the theory of self care deficit that supports also following methodical description of this matter. First objective was to define the competency of self/dependence care that should be adopted by family members to better understand and carry out the care of their relative with Huntington disease. Next aim was to map (by the qualitative research - semi-structured interview) how the care of the relative with HD is experienced by them. Further I tried to discover which problems are the most worrying to them and which competences of care do they dispose of. Based on the findings of qualitative research and detailed analysis of self care need I created an educational program focused on logopedics in Huntington disease. Furthermore I wrote the reading book of stories named ?Live with Huntington disease? based on these interviews
