IMRT technique for radiotherapy in rectal carcinoma

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem IMRT technika radioterapie u karcinomu rekta se zabývá srovnáním dvou metod zevní radioterapie karcinomu rekta s ohledem na polohu pacienta. Jde o techniky IMRT a konformní zevní 3D radioterapii (3D-CRT). Práce zhodnocuje výhody těchto technik a odlišnosti pro radioterapii rekta. Práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. Teoretická část začíná anatomií trávicího traktu a dále podrobněji rozebírá anatomii rekta. Další kapitolou teoretické části práce je problematika karcinomů oblasti rekta. Třetí kapitola se zabývá informacemi o léčbě a radioterapii zadané oblasti. V praktické části jsou vyhodnoceny a srovnány údaje z ozařovacích plánů jednotlivých pacientů s ohledem na techniku a jejich polohu při radioterapii. Na závěr bakalářské práce je provedeno zhodnocení získaných informací s návazností na jejich využití v praxi.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is entitled „IMRT technique of irradiation in rectum carcinoma: a comparison of dosimetric parameters in the use of IMRT and 3D-CRT techniques in regards to the position of the patient.“ This thesis compares technical benefits and differences. This thesis consists of both theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part begins with the anatomy of the digestive system and continues with the anatomy of the rectum. The next part of theoretical section is rectum carcinoma issues. The third part is dedicated to the treatment and radiotherapy of the specified area. In the practical part of this thesis, data from the radiation of particular patients, in respect to the technique and position of the radiation, is evaluated and compared. At the end of this bachelor thesis, all acquired information and its continuity of its praxis is evaluated.
