Synchronization of economic cycles in eurozone

Abstract:

Every country joins the euro area with the expectation that its integration into the monetary union and adopting euro currency will positively affects its economy. This thesis is devoted to analyzing the synchronization of business cycles within the euro area. Thesis documents and evaluates the current business cycles in european monetary union. Synchronization of business cycles is an important factor for the functioning and stability of EMU. Thesis compares the convergence of individual euro area member economies, which are outlined in the second part of the thesis. Deals with the analysis of the current state of convergence in which we assess the economic development of the euro area and Slovakia as a part of euro area.

Abstract:

Každá krajina vstupuje do eurozóny s očakávaním, že jej integrácia do menovej únie a prijatie samotnej meny pozitívne ovplyvní jej ekonomiku. Cieľom tejto diplomovej práce je analýza hospodárskej konvergencie krajín vrámci EMÚ so zameraním na pozíciu Slovenska vrámci eurozóny. Práca dokumentuje a zhodnocuje aktuálny vývoj hospodárskych cyklov menovej únie. Zladenosť hospodárskych cyklov krajín eurozóny je dôležitým faktorom pre fungovanie EMU ako celku. Súčasťou práce je porovnanie konvergencie jednotlivých ekonomík členských krajín. Tejto otázke sa venuje druhá časť práce. Tá spočíva v analýze aktuálneho stavu konvergencie v ktorej vyhodnotíme ekonomický vývoj eurozóny a Slovenska ako jej členskej krajiny.
