Occupational therapy intervention for individuals with ASD using ICT

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím informačních a komunikačních technologií během ergoterapeutické intervence u osob s poruchou autistického spektra. Zaměřuje se na možnosti a přínosy, které mohou konkrétní aplikace pro tablet v rámci těchto intervencí nabídnout. Praktickou část tvoří dvě kazuistiky dětských klientů s diagnózou atypického autismu, u kterých bylo v rámci terapie využito několika skupin aplikací zaměřených na rozvoj slovní zásoby, grafomotoriky, sociální interakce, relaxace a stimulace. Z výsledků vyplývá, že aplikace je možné úspěšně využít v jakékoli fázi terapie, ať už jde o počáteční motivaci, jádro terapie, nebo pro závěrečnou relaxaci.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis explores possibilities for use of information and communication technologies in ergotherapeutic intervention regarding clients with autistic spectrum disorder. It focuses on potential benefits of using specific applications for tablets during the therapy. The practical part consists of two case studies of children clients diagnosed with atypical autism, whose therapy adopted the use of several groups of applications aimed at the development of vocabulary, graphomotorics, social interaction, relaxation and stimulation. The results show that that the applications can be successfully used in each phase of therapy - in the starting motivation phase, the core part of the therapy as well as during the final relaxation.
