Foreknowledge of patients before surgical procedure in general anaesthesia

Abstract:

Diplomová práce si vzala za cíl určit faktory ovlivňující informovanost pacientů o celkové anestezii před operačním výkonem a využití tištěného informačního materiálu u těchto pacientů, na základě teoretického studia doplněného o výzkumné šetření. Pro sběr dat byly využity kvantitativní výzkumné metody. Za využití dotazníku byly získány informace od 107 pacientů, kteří podstoupili operační výkon v nemocnici ve Vrchlabí. Induktivní analýza výsledků probíhala za využití Mann-Witneyho testu a Kruskal-Wallisova testu na hladině významnosti α = 0,05. Nebyl prokázán vliv pohlaví (p = 0,34), akutnosti výkonu (p = 0,31), opakování operačního výkonu (p = 0,51) a pořadí výkonu (p = 0,064) na míru informovanosti pacientů před operačním výkonem. Byl prokázán vliv vzdělání (p = 0,002), akutnosti operačního výkonu na využití tištěného materiálu (p = 0,016) a tím na míru informovanosti před operačním výkonem. Výstupem práce je edukační materiál, který má posílit edukaci pacientů podstupujících celkovou anestezii v nemocnici ve Vrchlabí a zkvalitnit tak péči ve jmenované nemocnici.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to determine the factors influencing the foreknowledge of patients on general anesthesia prior to surgical procedure and the use of printed information materials with these patients based on theoretical study and survey research. Data collection was done with quantitative research methods. With the use of questionnaire, informations from 107 people who underwent surgical procedures in the hospital in Vrchlabí was obtained. Inductive analysis of the results used by Mann-Witney's and Kruskal-Wallis tests on the significance level α = 0.05. . The effect of gender (p = 0.34), the urgency of surgery (p = 0.31), the repetition of surgery (p = 0.51) and the order of surgery . The effect of education (p = 0.002), the urgency of the surgical procedure on the use of printed materials (p = 0.016), therefore, has been proven on the level of foreknowledge before the surgical procedure. The output of this thesis is an educational material that should improve the education of patients undergoing general anesthesia in the hospital in Vrchlabí and improve the quality of health care in the named hospital.
