The thesis deals with the question of human roots, the search for identity and the place of immigrants in the Canadian society. Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou kořenů, hledání identity a místa imigrantů v kanadské společnosti. V úvodu se zaměřuje na historii přistěhovalectví a multikulturalismu v Kanadě a na reflektování tohoto fenoménu ve francouzsko-kanadské literatuře.
