Study of surface characteristics of carbons loaded with pre-adsorbed substances from aqueous solutions

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá texturními parametry (specifický povrch, dostupný objem a povrch mikropórů) uhlíkatých materiálů s pre-adsorbovaným množstvím methylenové modře, resp. Pb2+ ionty. Pro sledování byl použit vzorek aktivního uhlí HS3 a hnědého uhlí HRN. Specifický povrch vzorků byl stanoven pomocí dynamické desorpce N2 při 77 K. Objem a povrch dostupných mikropórů byl stanoven pomocí adsorpce CO2 při 303,15 K. Bylo zjištěno, že nejvýraznější pokles specifického povrchu byl zaznamenán pro vzorek HRN, kdy s nárůstem pre-adsorbovaného množství methylenové modře, resp. Pb2+ iontů o 0,1 mmol, poklesl specifický povrch o ca. 8,7 m2.g-1 z původní hodnoty ca. 40 m2.g-1, to byl pokles o ca. 22 %. Pro vzorek HS3 byl zaznamenán pokles specifického povrchu pouze o 9 % pro methylenovou modř, resp. 3 % pro pre-adsorbované Pb2+ ionty. Podobný trend poklesu byl zaznamenán pro objem a povrch mikropórů u obou vzorků HS3 a HRN.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on texture parameters (specific surface area, accessible volume and surface area of micropores) of carbonaceous materials loaded with pre-adsorbed equilibrium amount of methylene blue like lead(II) ions. The sample of activated carbon HS3 and subbituminous coal HRN was used. The specific surface area was determined with dynamic desorption N2 at 77 K. Accessible volume and surface area of micropores was determined with sorption of CO2 at 303.15 K. There was the highest decrease in specific surface area on the sample HRN, with the increase in amount of pre-adsorbed methylene blue like lead(II) ions of 0,1 mM, the specific surface area decreased of 8,7 m2.g-1 from original value 40 m2.g-1, it was the decrease of 22 %. For the sample HS3 it was took note of the decrease specific surface area of 9 % for methylene blue and of 3 % for pre-adsorbed lead(II) ions. The similar decreasing trend was noted for accessible value and surface area micropores for both samples HS3 and HRN
