Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce studuje účinek různých čtenářských aktivit na studenty základní školy. Bakalářská práce chce ukázat, jak tyto aktivity rozšiřují slovní zásobu, zvyšují schopnost porozumění textu a zlepšují plynulost čtení. V teoretické části jsem se zabývala vysvětlením pojmu čtení. Zabývá se jednotlivými fázemi čtení a stadii, která musí žáci zvládnout, aby se stali úspěšnými čtenáři. V praktické části jsem vytvořila řadu aktivit, které jsem zkoušela s žáky osmé a deváté třídy ve škole, kde pracuji. Cílem bylo rozvíjet jejich schopnost čtení s porozuměním textu, schopnost odhadovat význam neznámých slov, zvýšit jejich jistotu při samostatném čtení a zjistit, co může pomoci vytvořit celoživotní potřebu čtení.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis studies the impact of various reading activities on students of English at the basic school. The work shows that these activities makes the students´ vocabulary larger, and their ability to understand a text is better, together with the fluency of reading. In the theoretical part, the term of reading is explained in detail. It deals with particular parts of reading and the stages which the pupils have to go through in order to become succesful readers. In the practical part of this thesis, I prepared various reading activities, which I did in my lessons with my students from year eight and nine. The aim was to develop the ability to read and understand the text, the ability to guess or derive the meaning of unknown words. Then I wanted my students to become more self confident in their independent reading and find out what can help them to create the need to read in their life.
