Functions of Archaic Expressions in Selected Examples of Sitcoms

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the use of archaisms in selected scenes of sitcoms and further examines their functions within given utterances. The theoretical part defines division and categorization of vocabulary, categorization of archaisms and puts emphasis on a term: T-V Distinction. The analytical part deals with connections of archaisms with implicatures within given utterances and their categorization within groups of functions based on findings from the theoretical part.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na použití archaismů ve vybraných ukázkách ze sitkomů a dále rozebírá jejich funkce ve vybraných ukázkách. Teoretická část definuje rozdělení a kategorie slovní zásoby, kategorizaci archaismů a dále se věnuje stěžejnímu termínu: T-V Distinction (tykání a vykání). Analytická část se zabývá propojením archaismů s danými implikaturami v daných výrocích a jejich zařazením do skupin funkcí vytvořených na základě poznatků z teoretické části.
