Salmonella ssp. je intracelulární patogen vyvolávající onemocnění různé závažnosti dle přítomnosti faktorů virulence, které obsahují ve svém genomu. Faktory virulence jsou kódovány geny, které se mohou nacházet ve skupině několika genů, nazývaných ostrovy patogenity. Abstract:
S. enterica is one of the most frequent bacterial food-borne pathogens of human. Pathogenicity islands (PAI) play a major role in the pathogenesis of infections by Salmonella enterica. PAI are genetic elements on chromosomes of large numer of pathogen and contain virulence genes.
