The industrialization of second half of the 19th Century and its impact on development of the village Strančice (Prague-east)

Abstract:

Bakalářské práce se zaměřuje na industrializaci obce Strančice především v podobě rozvoje železniční trati. S obdobím industrializace a stavbou železniční trati ve druhé polovině 19. století úzce souvisela činnost rodiny Ringhofferů, jejíž vliv na Strančice a jejich okolí práce též popisuje. Toto bádání je zároveň úzce spjato s osobním příběhem jednoho z místních obyvatel, který zemřel roku 1894 při nešťastném incidentu, který tohoto protagonistu nepřímo propojuje jak s vlivnou baronskou rodinou, tak i se samotnou industrializací.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the era of industrialization in the village of Strančice, especially with regards to the railway construction. Activities of the Ringhoffer family in Strančice and its neighbourhood are closely connected to the industrialization and the railway construction and as such are also described in this thesis. The research done within the bachelor thesis relates also to one of the local inhabitants, who died in an unfortunate incident in 1894. The incident indirectly links this person with the influential noble family and the industrialization era itself.
