Human and Predator - The Fear, Respect and Bond

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá vztahem mezi člověkem a dravcem. zaměřila jsem se zejm. na dva odlišné pohledy: 1) pohled sokolníka - tj. profesionála, který s dravci denně pracuje 2) pohled laika, v tomto případě pohled běžného návštěvníka zoologické zahrady. Vypracovala jsem některé základní otázky: Jak lidé konstruují představu dravého zvířete? Jakým způsobem se projevuje antropomorfizace dravců? Jakým způsobem práce sokolníků ovlivňuje přirozené chování dravců? Vnímají sokolníci dravce jinak, než laická společnost? K získání odpovědí jsem vytvořila výzkum, kde jsem použila různé metody sběru dat: rozhovory se sokolníky, dotazníky pro návštěvníky zoo a např. metodu free listingu, která byla předložena sokolníkům a návštěvníkům. Tento výzkum byl založen na mé osobní zkušenosti, kterou jsem získala v zoologické zahradě, kde jsem pracovala s dravci.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the relationship between human and bird of prey. I focused on the two different points of view: First: the view of falconers ? trained professionals who daily work with the birds of prey. And second: the view of non-professionals, in this case: the view of common visitors of the zoological garden. I worked out some of the basic questions: How people construct the image of the predator? In which way we anthropomorphize the birds of prey? How the work of the falconers influence the natural behavior of the birds of prey? Do falconers perceive the birds of prey differently than ordinary people? In order to gain the answers I have made a research and I used a number of different methods: interviews with the falconers, questionnaires with the visitors of the ZOO and for example the method of free listing for both ? falconers and visitors as well. This research was based on my own experience which I have gained when I worked in the zoological garden with the birds of prey.
