Spin-off in The Business Environment of The Czech republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou spin-off firem v podnikatelském prostředí České republiky. V teoretické části se pojednává o spin-off, jakožto o jedné z možností komercionalizace výsledku vědy a výzkumu. Cílem první části je objasnit základní pojmy, nezbytné k pochopení problematiky vzniku spin-off. V analytické části jsou nejprve definovány předpoklady, plynoucí z aktuální situace v České republice. V další části jsou pak tyto předpoklady zkoumány a analyzovány. Analýza sestává z několika kroků. Za prvé, ze zkoumání vztahu VŠ k tvorbě spin-off. Za druhé, ze zjištění podpory ze strany VŠ potenciálním zakladatelům. Za třetí, ze zkoumání vztahu mezi výzkumným potenicálem krajů a množstvím spin-off v krajích. V závěrečné části jsou získané výsledky zhodnoceny. Cílem práce je identifikovat příčiny pomalého rozvoje spin-off firem v České republice a formulovat doporučení, která mohou vést k jejich nárůstu.

Abstract:

The thesis is foused on the issue of spin-off companies in the business environmental of the Czech republic. In the theoretical part, the spin-off firm as the possibility of the intellectual property commercialization is discussed. The aim of the first part is to explaine and describe the basic terms, necessary to understand the spin-off creation. In the first part of the analytic chapter, prerequisities arising from present situation in the Czech republic are defined. In the next part of the analysis chapter, these prerequisities are explored and analysed. The analysis consists of several parts. Firs, the attitude of universities to the spin-offs creation is explored. Second, the support from universities to potential founders is analysed. Third, the continutity between research potential of regions and number of spin-offs in regions is explored. In the end, the gained results are evaluated. The principial goal of the thesis is to identify causes of slow growth of spin-off in the Czech republic and to formulate advices, which could lead to their increases.
