Concept Restaurant Day

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na analýzu celosvětového gastronomického festivalu Restaurant Day, který lze chápat jako festival domácích pop-up restaurací. Jedná se o socio-kulturní festival, který si skrze jídlo klade za cíl vytvářet komunitu podobně smýšlejících lidí, oživit veřejný prostor a vytvářet prostor pro projevení kreativity obyvatel města, kde festival probíhá. Práce si klade za cíl popsat koncept nově vzniklého festivalu a určit motivy, které účastníky festivalu ve dvou zvolených městech vedou k aktivnímu zapojení k mezinárodnímu festivalu domácích restaurací. V řešení tohoto problému bylo využito kvantitativního výzkumu, při kterém byla využita technika dotazníkového šetření. Provedeným výzkumem bylo zjištěno, že motivy lidí pocházejících ze dvou různých měst jsou velmi odlišné. Na základě zjištěných údajů je možné zefektivnit koordinaci budoucích ročníků festivalu ve Zlíně, kde byl průzkum primárně prováděn. Jelikož je práce doplněna o zkušenosti koordinátorů festivalu v různých městech České republiky, může být tato diplomová práce určitou inspirací a návodem pro ty, kteří se chtějí připojit k tomuto rychle se rozvíjejícímu mezinárodnímu festivalu také.

Abstract:

The presented thesis focuses on the analysis of the global food festival Restaurant Day, usually considered a festival of local pop-up restaurants. Restaurant Day is a socio-cultural festival which, through food, aims to create a community of like-minded people, revitalize public space and to encourage the creativity of local residents. The aim of this thesis is to describe the concept of Restaurant Day and to identify the motives behind the active participation of participants of two selected cities where this international festival took place. A quantitative research method using a questionnaire survey was applied in this work. The research showed that the motives are quite different from one city to the other. Based on the research output it is possible to establish a more effective coordination of any subsequent Restaurant Day in Zlín, a city where this research was primarily carried out. The thesis is also supplemented by experience of coordinators of the festival in various cities of the Czech Republic and, therefore, can be taken as a sort of inspiration or guideline for everyone who wants to take part in this rapidly growing international festival.
