Slam, New Poetry for Youth: Translation and Analysis of Songs of Grand Corps Malade

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis deals with a new poetic movement – slam, its delimitations and translation of chosen texts from a slammer nicknamed Grand Corps Malade. He incorporates slang elements into his songs that aim particularly at the youth. In this paper, theoretical problems of translation, slam itself, use of common Czech in translations and comparison of perception of both Czech and Moravian reader are treated. The major part is dedicated to translation of songs Je viens de là, Le jour se lève, Saint Denis and their analysis.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá novým poetickým směrem - slamem, jeho vymezením a překladem vybraných textů slammera, který si přezdívá Grand Corps Malade. Do svých písní začleňuje argotické a slangové prvky a orientuje se tak především na mladé lidi. V práci je pojednáno o teoretických problémech překladu, slamu jako takovém a problematice použití obecné češtiny v překladu a srovnání vnímání čtenáře českého a moravského. Nejrozsáhlejší část se věnuje překladu písní Je viens de là, Le jour se lève, Saint Denis a jejich analýze.
