Differences in functional diagnosis and comparison of the efficacy of rehabilitation protocols for groin pain: a clinical case

Abstract:

More and more athletes of all levels are affected and suffer from groin pain, which leads them to stay away from competitions for a long time. With the following elaborate I will try to give a definition of the pathology, through the help of studies done by experts from all over the world. The work will initially expose all anatomical structures related to the pathology such as muscles and joints; Later will be listed the types of Groin Pain studied and classified to date and finally will be described the various treatments used in the medical and physiotherapy field, in order to cure the pathology. However, the pathology still has many contrasts in the definition, due to its unclear mode of onset and due to the lack of universal treatment useful to treat it. The following work will expose the importance of a physiotherapy treatment that aims to rebalance the patient's muscles and educate them on the importance of prevention; The protocol will involve measuring ROM and grading and performing exercises with different contractions and hydrokinesitherapy sessions; treatment results will be monitored through medical tests. It will also highlight the enormous importance that a strong relationship of trust between the therapist and the patient will have. Finally, the results obtained will be presented, which will confirm the thesis that the treatment most used for the treatment of groin pain is the physiotherapy one, in spite of all other modes of intervention.

Abstract:

Sempre pi? atleti di ogni livello vengono colpiti e soffrono di groin pain, che li porta a stare lontano dalle competizioni per molto tempo. Con il seguente elaborato si cercher? di dare una definizione della patologia, attraverso l'ausilio degli studi fatti da esperti di tutto il mondo. L'elaborato avr? il compito di esporre inizialmente tutte le strutture anatomiche collegate alla patologia come muscoli e articolazioni; successivamente verranno elencate le tipologie di Groin Pain studiate e classificate fino ad oggi e infine verranno descritti i vari trattamenti utilizzati in ambito medico e fisioterapico, al fine di curare la patologia. Tuttavia la patologia presenta ancora molti contrasti nella definizione, a causa della sua modalit? di insorgenza poco chiara e a causa della mancanza di un trattamento universale utile a trattarla. Con il seguente lavoro verr? esposta l'importanza di un trattamento fisioterapico che abbia come obiettivo quello di riequilibrare la muscolatura del paziente ed educarlo all'importanza della prevenzione; il protocollo preveder? la misurazione del ROM e del grading e l'esecuzione di esercizi con diverse contrazioni e sedute di idrokinesiterapia; i risultati del trattamento verranno monitorati attraverso test medici. Verr? inoltre sottolineata l'enorme rilevanza che avr? l'instaurazione di un forte rapporto di fiducia tra il terapista e il paziente. Infine verranno esposti i risultati ottenuti, che confermeranno la tesi per cui il trattamento maggiormente utilizzato per la cura del groin pain ? quello fisioterapico, a dispetto di tutte le altre modalit? di intervento.
