Author’s collection of clothes inspired by slow fashion

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je praktického charakteru a dotýká se dvou rovin, které jsou diskutovány v teoretické části. Jedna rovina se týká otázky mužského oděvu a stereotypech spojených s mužským odíváním. V praktické části toto téma demonstrují zavinovací sukně a kimono určené pro muže. Další rovina diskutovaná v teoretické části se týká oděvního a textilního materiálu a jeho zkázným dopadům na naši planetu. V této části se práce věnuje environmentální problematice výroby jak jednotlivých materiálů, tak i vznikajících oděvů a s tím spojené konzumní společnosti podporující fast fashion průmysl, ale i nadějným vlivům a tendencím vstupujícím do dnešní společnosti – slow fashion trend a deadstock materiály, které současně prezentuje praktická část diplomové práce – udržitelná kolekce unisex oblečení. Poslední část je věnována implementaci environmentální problematiky textilu a konzumní společnosti do osnov školního prostředí díky tematickému projektu uskutečněnému v praxi.

Abstract:

The master‘s thesis is of a practical nature and addresses two dimensions discussed in the theoretical section. One dimension pertains to the question of men‘s clothing and stereotypes associated with male attire. In the practical part, this topic is exemplified by wrap skirts and kimonos designed for men. Another dimension discussed in the theoretical section concerns clothing and textile material and its detrimental impacts on our planet. In this section, the thesis addresses the environmental issues surrounding the production of both individual materials and emerging garments, as well as the associated consumer society that supports the fast fashion industry. Additionally, it delves into promising influences and trends entering today‘s society, such as the slow fashion trend and deadstock materials, which are simultaneously presented in the practical part of the master‘s thesis through a sustainable collection of unisex clothing. The final section is dedicated to implementing the environmental issues related to textiles and consumer society.
