Patient Education Before Surgery

Abstract:

Tento výzkum se zabývá hodnocením názorů pacientů k poskytování informací o předoperační péči před chirurgickým zákrokem pomocí dotazníkového šetření. Teoretická část práce se zaměřuje na vysvětlení základních pojmů spojených s edukací pacientů před operací, chirurgií a předoperační přípravou. To zahrnuje nejenom definice těchto pojmů, ale také jejich význam v kontextu zdravotnické praxe a péče o pacienty. Dále je v této části práce provedeno rozdělení chirurgických zákroků podle jejich charakteru a závažnosti. Jelikož starší populace a pacienti trpící diabetem často vyžadují specifický přístup a péči, teoretická část práce se dále zaměřuje na tuto problematiku. Jsou zde popsány specifické potřeby těchto skupin pacientů v kontextu předoperační přípravy a edukace. V praktické části bakalářské práce jsou analyzovány výsledky dotazníkového průzkumu, jehož hlavním cílem je zjistit, jak pacienti hodnotí srozumitelnost poskytované edukace před operací. Tento průzkum také zkoumá, s jakou četností je tato edukace poskytována, což umožňuje získat ucelený pohled na současnou situaci v oblasti předoperační přípravy. Důležitou součástí praktické části je popsání subjektivního názoru pacientů na edukaci, kterou poskytuje všeobecná sestra v předoperačním období. Tato analýza je klíčová pro porozumění tomu, jak pacienti vnímají informace a přípravu před chirurgickým zákrokem.

Abstract:

This research deals with the evaluation of patients' attitudes towards the provision of information about preoperative care before surgery by means of a questionnaire survey. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on explaining the basic concepts related to patient education before surgery, surgery and preoperative preparation. This includes not only definitions of these terms, but also their meaning in the context of medical practice and patient care. Furthermore, this section of the thesis categorizes surgical procedures according to their nature and severity. As the elderly population and patients suffering from diabetes often require a specific approach and care, the theoretical part of the thesis further focuses on this issue. The specific needs of these patient groups are described in the context of preoperative preparation and education. The practical part of the bachelor thesis analyses the results of a questionnaire survey, the main aim of which is to find out how patients evaluate the clarity of the education provided before surgery. This survey also examines the frequency with which this education is provided, which allows a comprehensive view of the current situation in the field of preoperative preparation. An important part of the practical part is to describe the patients' subjective opinion of the education provided by the general nurse in the preoperative period. This analysis is key to understanding how patients perceive information and preparation prior to surgery.
