Management of IT department in a company

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá managementem IT oddělení v podniku. V práci je nejprve popsáno teoretické vymezení managementu podniku, jeho pojetí, úrovně, manažerské role leader a manažer a základní manažerské funkce. Následně je blíže specifikováno IT oddělení v podniku, jeho úloha a způsob začlenění v organizační struktuře a dále jsou popsány způsoby řízení projektů v IT oddělení. Poté následuje komparace stylů vedení, analýza začlenění IT oddělení v podnikové organizační struktuře v praxi, analýza nabídek zaměstnání na pozice vedoucího IT pracovníka, a nakonec je zjištěno, co IT pracovníky motivuje.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the management of the IT department in a company. The thesis first describes the theoretical definition of management in the company, its concept, levels, managerial roles of leader and manager and basic managerial functions. Subsequently, the IT department in the company, its role and the way of its integration in the organizational structure are specified in more detail and then the methods of project management in the IT department are described. This is followed by a comparison of management styles, an analysis of the integration of the IT department in the corporate organizational structure in practice, an analysis of job offers for IT management positions, and finally, what motivates IT workers is identified.
