Performance of computing systems with consideration of information security

Abstract:

V této práci se snažím zachytit trend rostoucí výkonnosti informačních systémů napříč historií a jeho souběžnost s vývojem kryptografických metod užívaných k ochraně dat. Přes matematický popis standardních metod a praktických možností ochrany dat běžného uživatele dnešní doby je cílem ukázat nebezpečí nových výpočetních technologií. Především pak položit otázku, zda by tyto technologie pro současný status quo, zachovávaný mezi výpočetní výkonností a komplexitou užívaných šifer, mohly znamenat zásadní zvrat v bezpečnosti dat.

Abstract:

In this thesis, I try to capture the trend of increasing efficiency of information systems throughout history and its parallel with the development of cryptographic methods used to protect data. Through the mathematical description of practical possibilities of data protection of an ordinary, today user, the aim is to show the danger of new information technologies. Especially, it is to ask the question whether these technologies could mean a crucial breakthrough in data security for the current status quo, which is maintained between information efficiency and complexity of used ciphers.
