Music therapy techniques and their use in pregnancy

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá myšlenkou použití muzikoterapie v těhotenství. Muzikoterapie je hudební disciplína zabývající se použitím hudby v terapeutickém procesu. Propojuje množství příbuzných oborů a lze ji použít formou psychoterapie v lékařských odvětvích, nebo pro účely skupinové a individuální relaxace. Hlavním cílem práce je sběr poznatků a zpětných reakcí od těhotných žen po absolvování praktického muzikoterapeutického cvičení vedeného porodní asistentkou. Dílčími cíli práce jsou zjištění povědomí žen o prenatální komunikaci a technice muzikoterapie, zhodnocení jejich zájmu o využití hudebních technik v průběhu těhotenství a také zhodnocení praktického cvičení. Teoretická část práce se zabývá komplexním vývojem plodu, charakteristikou zvukového přenosu a také vztahem mezi matkou a plodem v prenatálním období. Tyto poznatky navazují na princip prenatální komunikace a následně i možnost použití techniky muzikoterapie. Praktická část je zaměřena především na muzikoterapeutické cvičení, které bylo vytvořeno pro skupinu těhotných žen. Na dané téma navazovaly také rozhovory pro rozšíření a obohacení získaných výsledků o názory porodních asistentek, které prenatální přípravy pořádají. Vzhledem k charakteru praktické části se jedná o kvalitativní šetření zadaných cílů. Veškeré připomínky a odezvy zúčastněných jsou komentovány v diskuzi práce.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the idea of using music therapy during pregnancy. Music therapy is a musical discipline dealing with the use of music in the therapeutic process. It combines the amount of related disciplines and can be used as a psychotherapy in the medical sectors or for group and individual relaxation. The main aim of the work is to collect knowledge and feedback from pregnant women after practicing a music-therapeutic exercise led by a midwife. The partial aims of the thesis are to find women's awareness of prenatal communication and music therapy techniques, to evaluate their interest in the use of musical techniques during pregnancy and also to evaluate practical exercises. The theoretical part deals with the complex development of the fetus, the characteristics of the sound transmission and also the relationship between the mother and the fetus in the prenatal period. This knowledge follows the principle of prenatal communication and consequently the possibility of using the technique of music therapy. The practical part is focused mainly on music therapy exercises, which was created for a group of pregnant women. This topic was also followed by interviews to extend and enrich the results obtained on the opinions of midwives who organize prenatal training. Due to the character of the practical part, it is a qualitative investigation of the assigned objectives. All comments and feedback from participants are commented on in the discussion.
