Integration of Christian Refugees in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice související s integrací křesťanských uprchlíků do majoritní společnosti. V úvodu teoretické části se zabýváme tématem z pohledu dostupné literatury domácí a zahraniční. Dále předkládáme pohled na migraci a integraci imigrantů v České republice, kde hovoříme také o postojích majoritní společnosti k přistěhovalcům a zabýváme se předsudky. V následující části hovoříme o uprchlictví a věnujeme pozornost konfliktu mezi islámem a křesťanstvím. Poslední kapitola je následně zaměřena na projekt Nadačního fondu Generace 21 a na záchranu křesťanských uprchlíků z Iráku. V empirické části, za pomocí kvalitativního šetřeni a analýzou získaných dat formou rozhovorů, zkou-máme faktory, které mají vliv na integraci křesťanských uprchlíků z Iráku do naší kulturně odlišné společnosti.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the problems associated with the integration of Christian ref-ugees into the majority society. At the beginning of the theoretical part we deal with the topic from the point of view of the available domestic and foreign literature. We also give a look at the migration and integration of immigrants in the Czech Republic, where we also talk about the attitudes of the majority society to immigrants and we are dealing with preju-dices. In the following section, we talk about refugees and pay attention to the conflict be-tween Islam and Christianity. The last chapter focuses on the Generation 21 Endowment Fund project and on the rescue of Christian refugees from Iraq. In the empirical part, using qualitative research and analyzing the data obtained through interviews, we examine the factors that influence the integration of Christian refugees from Iraq into our culturally dif-ferent society.
