Scouting as an educational tool - a formation of values and personal aspirations

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou hodnotové orientace dětí a mládeže vyrůstající ve skautu a dětí, které nikdy skautingem neprošly. V teoretické části této bakalářské práce věnujeme hodnotám, jejich klasifikaci. Dále pak výchově, či skautské výchově, socializaci a morálnímu vývoji adolescentů, volnému času a jeho efektivním využití. Posledním tématem pak je skauting, jeho výchovné kategorie a hlavně to, jaké skauting rozvíjí hodnoty. V empirické části porovnáváme dotazníkovým výzkumným šetřením, provedeným mezi 118 skautskými i neskautskými adolescenty ve věku 14 18 let, zda preferují skautští adolescenti jiné hodnoty, než ti neskautští. V závěru práce přinášíme zhodnocení výsledků dotazníkového šetření. Cílem práce je analýza preferencí hodnot skautů i neskautů a následné porovnání těchto hodnot u obou kategorií.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of value orientation concerning children and youth growing up in the Scout Association and children who have never been members of this organization. In the theoretical part of this work, I focus on values and their classification. I also inquire into education, or scout training, socialization, the moral development of adolescents, leisure time and its effective use. Scouting, its pedagogical categories as well as the values developed by scout activities and spirit represent the last topic. In the empirical part, I compare the values of scout and non-scout adolescents by the method of questionnaire survey, carried out among 118 adolescents at the age from 14 to 18 years old. In the conclusion of the thesis, I performed the result evaluation of the questionnaire survey. The aim of this work is the analysis of the value preferences regarding Scouts and non-Scouts and the consequent comparison of those values for both categories.
