Charles Murray's Critism of Welfare State

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá kritikou sociálního státu podle Charlese Murrayho. Práce je rozdělena na tři teoretické části. První část se zabývá definici sociálního státu, jeho vývojem, typologii a krizí. V druhé části je popsána sociální politika a její oblasti, kterými jsou politika zaměstnanosti a vzdělávací politika. Se sociální politikou souvisí také sociálně patologický jev chudoba, který je v diplomové práci popsán v druhé kapitole. Cílem třetí části je kritika sociálního státu, potažmo sociální politiky podle amerického politologa Charlese Murrayho. Autorovy teze jsou interpretovány z knihy Příliš mnoho dobra: Americká sociální politika 1950 - 1980.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with Charles Murray's critique of the welfare state. The thesis is divided into three theoretical parts. The first part deals with the definition of the welfare state, its development, typology and crisis. The second part describes social policy and its areas, which are employment policy and education policy. Social policy is also related to the social pathological phenomenon of poverty, which is described in the thesis in the second chapter. The aim of the third part is a critique of the welfare state and, consequently, of social policy according to the American political scientist Charles Murray. The author's theses are interpreted from the book Loosing Ground: American Social Policy, 1950 - 1980.
