Accounting solutions for the transition to new accounting regulations

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou a implementací nového zákona o účetnictví v České republice, jehož cílem je modernizace a harmonizace účetního rámce s mezinárodními standardy. Práce zkoumá, jak přechod na nové účetní předpisy ovlivní účetní jednotky a jaké jsou hlavní výzvy a přínosy těchto změn. Klíčovou součástí práce je kapitola 6, která se věnuje aplikaci zásadních změn, jako jsou vykazování leasingu, investičních dotací a aplikace současné hodnoty podle nového zákona. V práci jsou analyzovány různé metody přechodu (retrospektivní, prospektivní a metoda bez úpravy historických dat) a jsou posouzeny jejich dopady na finanční výkazy účetních jednotek. Výsledky práce ukazují, že přechod přináší značné výzvy v oblasti účetního vzdělávání a adaptace systémů, ale zároveň nabízí příležitosti pro zvýšení kvality účetního vykazování.

Abstract:

This thesis addresses the analysis and implementation of the new accounting law in the Czech Republic, aimed at modernizing and harmonizing the accounting framework with international standards. The work examines how the transition to new accounting regulations will affect accounting units and what the main challenges and benefits of these changes are. A key part of the thesis is Chapter 6, which focuses on the application of fundamental changes, such as the reporting of leasing, investment grants, and the application of present value under the new law. The thesis analyzes various transition methods (retrospective, prospective, and the method withouit adjustment of historical data) and assesses their impacts on the financial statements of accounting units. The results show that the transition poses significant challenges in the area of accounting education and system adaptation, while also offering opportunities to enhance the quality of financial reporting.
