Design of wheelchair for an active life of a person with the low paraplegy

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je upozornit na problematiku současných aktivních invalidních vozíků a najít nové řešení. Navržený vozík je určen pro vymezenou skupinu uživatelů s nízkou paraplegií a paraparézou. Nejdůležitější částí práce je jiný pohled na běžné problémy uživatelů a prevence zdravotních onemocnění vzniklých dlouhodobým sezením ve vozíku. Aktivní polohovací vozík Seiya je inspirován Japonskou klečící polohou Seiza. Velký důraz je kladen na rehabilitaci, ergonomii a snadné používání pro uživatele. Rám vozíku je navržen jako modulární systém sestavitelný pro individuální velikost každého uživatele, je lehký a svou funkcí by měl přirozeně navazovat na lidské tělo.

Abstract:

The main target of my diploma thesis is to point out problems with current active wheelchairs and find a new solution for the active wheelchair, designed specifically for people with a low paraplegia and paraparesis. Very important topic in my work is different look at the standard problems. The positioning active wheelchair ? Seiza was inspired by the traditional Japanese kneeling position. Designing of the wheelchair was largely devoted to rehabilitation and physiotherapy problems related to the wheelchair. My goal was to make the wheelchair easier to use and to highlight the importance of positioning and ergonomic problems. The frame of the wheelchair Seiza is based on modular system, which is possible to set up for any size and make it more fitting to every user. Last but not least advantage of the designed wheelchair is its light weight and attractive look. Seiza should be the natural continuation of the human body.
