Cultural and social activities of the German tourist association Beskidenverein

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is devoted to the Beskidenverein, the largest German tourist association in the Czech lands at the time. A brief insight into the beginnings of German organized tourism in the Czech lands and the beginning of the Beskidenvereins activities is helpful for a proper understanding of the subject. In the practical part, the cultural and social activities of the association in the years 1904-1915 will be analysed with the help of the magazine "Mitteilungen des Beskidenvereins".

Abstract:

Die Diplomarbeit ist dem damals größten deutschen Touristenverein in den böhmischen Ländern, dem Beskidenverein, gewidmet. Ein kurzer Einblick in die Anfänge des organisierten Tourismus in den böhmischen Ländern und die Anfänge der Tätigkeit des Beskidenvereins ist für das Verständnis des Themas hilfreich. Im praktischen Teil werden die kulturellen und sozialen Aktivitäten des Vereins in den Jahren 1904-1915 mit Hilfe der Zeitschrift "Mitteilungen des Beskidenvereins" untersucht.
